| The natural color range of Tourmaline is from a light pink to watermelon red to green to blue to black. Most Tourmalines's are heat treated to enhance their color. The transparency and clarity of Tourmaline is normally considered to be good, but it is considered to have a Type 2 clairity and internal flaws do occur. Tourmalines's are found in Brazil, Nigeria, Zambia, Kenya, India, Mozambique, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afganistan, Burma, Tasmania and the United States. Ultrasonic and steam cleaning are not safe for Tourmaline jewelry. Use mild soap and water with ammonia and a soft cloth to clean Tourmaline jewlery.
