Tips for Choosing Pearl Bridal Jewelry
Wearing pearl jewelry at your wedding
has been traditional for generations. Pearl bridal jewelry is also a
sophisticated way to add your own personal touch to your bridal ensemble. What's
more, your pearl bridal jewelry is not limited to just the day of your your
wedding, it can be enjoyed and worn for years to come and will always remind you
of your very special day. When choosing pearl bridal jewelry for yourself or
your bridesmaids, it is very important to consider the overall design and colors
of the wedding or bridesmaid dress and the resulting dress neckline. There are
four basic styles of pearl necklaces that are used as bridal jewelry, the
collar, the choker, the princess and the opera.
Pearl collars complement off the shoulder and V-neck fashions. The pearl
collar is composed of three to five cultured pearl strands, each 12 to 13 inches
in length. It fits rather snugly around the middle of the neck.
Pearl chokers are the most versatile type of single strand
cultured pearl necklace and will complement almost any neckline. The pearl
choker is composed of a single strand of cultured pearls that is usually 16
inches in length.
The princess length pearl necklace will work well with crew
and high necklines. This style of pearl necklace is usually 18 inches long and
is frequently used with enhancers.
Opera length
pearls, usually 30 inches long, when worn as a single pearl strand, are perfect
for high or crew necklines, and when doubled upon itself, can be used as a two
strand choker.
